Set within a UNESCO reserve at the foot of the Luberon National Park, Domaine de la Cavalerie is a Provençal estate surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Steeped in history and striking a perfect balance between rustic and romantic, the 65-hectare estate has been in the Ungaro family for two generations.
Originally a medieval estate, it was later transformed by the fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro into a summer home for family and friends. Today, the next chapter is being shaped by Emanuel’s daughter, Cosima. An extensive restoration has carefully honoured the home’s history while updating it for a new generation of travellers.
The estate comprises two residences, available to book either together for exclusive use or individually. La Commanderie is the main house, with seven bedrooms, two kitchens, generous living and dining areas, and a library. La Bergerie is the four bedroom residence, with a kitchen, dining room and listening room. La Bergerie opens onto a Roman amphitheatre-inspired terrace with valley views, alongside a freshwater pool and gardens.
The estate operates on an all-inclusive basis, with meals prepared by the in-house chef and culinary team, as well as daily housekeeping, concierge support, and access to an open-air spa area with sauna, cold plunge and natural spring.
Experiences are shaped around the estate’s character and the family’s passions, from accompanying the chef to local markets to guided tours of antiques, art and other cultural treasures throughout the region.
